Phone Service Unavailable at Matheson Municipal Office: Update for Area Communities

The Township of Black River-Matheson issued a public notice on August 13, 2025, stating that phone lines at the municipal office in Matheson are currently out of service.

The notice lists the communities of Holtyre, Matheson, Ramore, Shillington, and Val Gagne, indicating the relevance of this update to these locations.

According to the notice, staff are working to restore phone service as quickly as possible. The notice, signed by Gilles Giguere, Town Manager and Director of Public Services, does not provide a timeline for when service will be restored. No information was given about the cause of the outage or about alternative contact methods during the disruption.
