Public hearing set Jan. 14 for boundary adjustment at 1347 Highway 652 in Cochrane

The Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 171 Fourth Avenue, on Consent Application B2025-15 for 1347 Highway 652. The application seeks approval to convey about 10,439.4 square metres (1.04 hectares) of vacant land to an abutting parcel.

The hearing precedes a decision on a boundary adjustment under Section 53 of the Planning Act and will allow residents to share comments before the board rules on the application.

If approved, the receiving lot—Part Lot 11, Concession 1, Part 1 on Plan 6R-5310—would total about 2 hectares (4.94 acres) with approximately 137 metres (449.47 feet) of frontage on Highway 652.

The retained lands would be about 55.72 hectares (137.68 acres).

The owner is listed as R. Castonguay and the applicants as G. and D. Papineau. The subject lands are legally described as Part Lot 11, Concession 1, Glackmeyer Township, in the Town of Cochrane, within the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Area.

Participants must register by Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, to receive participation details, including electronic participation.

Additional information about the application is available for inspection at Town Hall, 171 Fourth Avenue, during regular office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

Anyone who wants to be notified of the decision must make a written request to the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board.

The Ontario Land Tribunal may dismiss an appeal if the appellant did not make a written submission to the board before it made its decision on the provisional consent.

The notice is dated Dec. 17, 2025.
