Raw wastewater overflow reported at Whitney-Tisdale Pump Station #1 in Timmins
A raw wastewater overflow was reported at the Whitney-Tisdale Pump Station #1 at 202 Goldrush Street in Timmins, starting at 10 p.m. on April 17, 2026, according to the City of Timmins.
The city’s overflow report lists the end date, end time and volume bypassed as “TBD,” and it does not provide a cause for the overflow.
In background notes included with the report, the City of Timmins says bypasses or overflows can occur when a treatment plant or treatment process is overwhelmed. The city says heavy rainfall and snowmelt often contribute.
The city says that during a bypass or overflow, partially treated wastewater is diverted from part of the treatment process to prevent backups or damage to the system.
The overflow was reported by the city’s Environmental Services Department.
