Recall Issued for Lil Juan’s and Lucia’s Pork Carnitas Due to Wood Contamination Risk
Sofina Foods Inc. has recalled Lil Juan’s brand and Lucia’s brand Mexican Style Pork Carnitas due to the possible presence of pieces of wood, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The recall was issued on October 25, 2023.
The CFIA reports that these products were sold in Canada. Packaging details, specific lot numbers, or UPC codes were not listed in the announcement. Consumers in Northern Ontario and throughout the country are advised by the CFIA to check their refrigerators and freezers for these products.
The CFIA advises that the recalled pork carnitas should not be consumed. Consumers can discard the product or return it to the place where it was purchased.
No injuries or illnesses have been reported to the CFIA in connection to these products at the time of the recall announcement.
