Seasonal half-load restriction begins April 13, 2026 on Cochrane roads

A seasonal half-load restriction took effect Monday, April 13, 2026, on municipal roads in Cochrane, limiting vehicles to 5 tonnes per axle.

The Town of Cochrane’s notice says the annual restriction is used during the spring thaw, when road conditions can be more vulnerable.

According to the town’s seasonal load restriction notice, the annual half-load season runs between April and July. During that period, the 5-tonnes-per-axle limit applies to vehicles using municipal roads in Cochrane.
