Sewage Overflow Incident Reported at Timmins' Station 2

The City of Timmins has announced a sanitary sewer overflow that occurred at Station 2, situated at 57 Evans. The overflow event began on March 15, 2025, at 4:48 PM and ended at 11:05 PM the same evening. The total volume of the overflow was reported to be 361.59 cubic meters.

According to the Environmental Services Department of Timmins, the overflow happened due to the treatment plant's processes becoming overwhelmed. Municipal wastewater is reported to comprise 99% water from sources such as stormwater, domestic, and commercial activities including washing and flushing.

Further measures and assessments are being initiated by the Timmins Environmental Services Department to address this situation and mitigate future occurrences.
