Smooth Rock Falls annual street sweeping program scheduled to start June 8

Street sweeping in Smooth Rock Falls is scheduled to start Monday, June 8, weather permitting, as the town begins its annual street sweeping program.

The Town of Smooth Rock Falls is asking residents to keep streets clear during the work by avoiding on-street parking and removing items that could block crews.

Residents are asked to avoid parking on the street while sweeping is underway.

The town also asks people to remove vehicles, trailers, basketball nets, garbage bins, and other obstacles from the roadway.

The town says residents should not sweep or pile sand onto the street.

Drivers are asked to slow down and give crews plenty of space.

Crews may return to some areas for a second pass. The town says operations may begin early and may cause temporary noise or dust.

The schedule is subject to change based on weather and equipment availability, the town said.
