Smooth Rock Falls clerk certifies candidates for 2026 municipal and school board election

Smooth Rock Falls’ town clerk has certified the candidates for the 2026 municipal and school board elections, with election day set for Oct. 26, 2026.

The certified list confirms who is eligible to appear on the ballot for mayor, four council seats and one French Separate School Board trustee position, according to the town’s September 2026 “Citizen’s Corner” notice.

Two candidates are listed for mayor: Patrick Roberts and Gratien Bernier.

Eight candidates are listed for the four councillor seats: Joe (Jean-Marie) Couture, Leslie Gagnon, Tracy Gagnon, Jason Elliott, Gary Kurtz, Serge Richard, Jean-Marc Bérubé and Denise Pelletier.

Two candidates are listed for French Separate School Board trustee: Gilles Audet and Annie-Pier Montpetit.

For the school board race, the town notes that electors may vote only for the school board for which they are qualified and registered as a supporter.

The town says the candidates were certified by the clerk under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
