The Town of Smooth Rock Falls closed its municipal landfill Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, due to a severe winter storm and the continued closure of Highway 11.
Public Works crews are plowing and removing snow throughout the community. The town advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel while clearing continues.
The landfill is scheduled to reopen Saturday, Jan. 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
