Smooth Rock Falls nominations list shows two mayoral candidates and four council candidates as of Aug. 13, 2026

Two people had filed nomination papers to run for mayor of Smooth Rock Falls as of 3:49 p.m. on Aug. 13, 2026, according to the town’s posted list of nominations.

The list provides an early look at who has put their name forward ahead of the 2026 municipal election. The nomination period runs from May 1, 2026, to nomination day on Aug. 21, 2026, when nominations close at 2 p.m.

The Aug. 13, 2026 list names Patrick Roberts and Gratien Bernier as candidates for mayor.

For town council, four people had filed nomination papers as of the same time and date: Joe Couture (Jean-Marie), Leslie Gagnon, Tracy Gagnon and Jason Elliott.

The town notes the nominations list is “for information purposes only” and will be updated as additional nomination papers are received.

After nominations close on Aug. 21, 2026, the clerk will certify the nominations in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, the notice states.
