Smooth Rock Falls has posted an unofficial list of nominations filed for the 2026 municipal election, current as of 11:36 a.m. on Aug. 12, 2026.

The posting lists people who have filed nomination papers so far for the offices of mayor and councillor. The list will be updated as nominations are received.

As of 11:36 a.m. Aug. 12, the town’s unofficial list shows Patrick Roberts and Gratien Bernier as having filed to run for mayor.

As of the same time, Joe Couture (Jean-Marie) and Leslie Gagnon were listed as having filed to run for councillor.

The nomination period runs from May 1, 2026, to nomination day on Aug. 21, 2026. Nominations close at 2 p.m. Aug. 21.

After nominations close, the clerk will certify nominations under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
