Smooth Rock Falls reports $64,989.74 in council pay and expenses for 2025

Smooth Rock Falls has released its Statement of Council Remuneration and Expenses Paid 2025 for the year ended Dec. 31, 2025, showing total payments of $64,989.74 to members of council. The total includes $60,460.50 in remuneration and $4,529.24 in expenses.

The statement lists what the town paid the mayor and each councillor in 2025, with separate lines for remuneration and expenses.

Councillor Leslie Gagnon had the highest total on the statement, at $16,393.97, made up of $12,263.42 in remuneration and $4,130.55 in expenses.

Mayor Patrick Roberts is listed at $14,730.51, including $14,331.82 in remuneration and $398.69 in expenses.

Councillor Dan Alie is listed at $11,288.42 in remuneration and no expenses, for a total of $11,288.42.

Councillor Denise Pelletier is listed at $11,288.42 in remuneration and no expenses, for a total of $11,288.42.

Councillor Angele Rochon is listed at $11,288.42 in remuneration and no expenses, for a total of $11,288.42.

A note on the statement says remuneration includes honorarium and per diem. Another note says expenses include conferences, seminars, and training.

The statement also says the mayor’s and council’s remuneration is paid in accordance with resolution #2012-255, with increases as per resolution #2004-51. It says travel expenses are paid in accordance with By-Law #2019-07.
