Smooth Rock Falls Town Hall closed Aug. 3; council meetings set for Aug. 4 and 17

Smooth Rock Falls Town Hall will be closed Aug. 3, 2026, for the Civic Holiday, and town council is scheduled to meet Aug. 4 and Aug. 17, both at 6 p.m., according to the town’s August “Citizen’s Corner” notice.

The notice also includes dates tied to the 2026 municipal election and a request for help filling two executive-board roles at the John Buchan Legion Branch 305, which the town says is at risk of closing if the positions are not filled by the end of August.

Council’s Aug. 4 meeting is set for 6 p.m. and includes both a Planning Board meeting and a regular council meeting.

A second regular council meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Aug. 17.

For the 2026 municipal election, election day is scheduled for Oct. 26, 2026, and the nomination period ends Aug. 21, 2026.

In its August “Citizen’s Corner” notice, the Town of Smooth Rock Falls said the John Buchan Legion Branch 305 is at risk of closing if it is unable to fill two Executive Board positions by the end of August 2026.

The positions the notice says need to be filled are 2nd vice-president and secretary.

The notice also lists municipal pool programs, including public swims, family swims, Aquafit and swim lessons. The pool is also available for private rentals.
