Soup and Sauce Brands Recalled for Possible Wood Contamination, CFIA Reports

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has announced a recall of several brands of soup and sauce due to the possible presence of pieces of wood. According to the CFIA, the affected products were sold across Canada.

The CFIA states that specific brands, product sizes, and lot numbers are detailed on its recall website. The agency reports that the recall was initiated after it was determined that certain products may contain pieces of wood, which could cause injury if consumed.

As of the time of the recall, the CFIA has not received any reports of related injuries.

Residents in Northeast Ontario are advised by the CFIA to check if they have any of the recalled soup or sauce products. The CFIA instructs consumers not to eat the recalled items and to return them to the store or dispose of them, as applicable.

The CFIA notes that it is carrying out additional checks to ensure that affected products are being removed from sale. Full details and updates are available on the government agency's official recall web page.
