Stella's Authentic Shito Condiment Recalled in Ontario over Sterility Concerns
Stella's Authentic brand Shito condiment has been recalled in Ontario due to commercial sterility concerns, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The recall affects both 500 ml and 250 ml bottles, specifically those with batch number STE-019 and best-before dates of December 31, 2025, and April 30, 2026.
The recall is issued because of concerns about possible microbial contamination. The CFIA classifies the recall as Class 2 and reports that the product was distributed through retail channels in Ontario. The agency warns consumers not to use, sell, serve, or distribute the affected products.
According to the CFIA, the affected products can be identified as follows:
- 500 ml bottles, UPC 7 52349 96515 0, batch number STE-019, best-before dates: December 31, 2025, and April 30, 2026
- 250 ml bottles, UPC 7 52349 96516 7, batch number STE-019, best-before dates: December 31, 2025, and April 30, 2026
The recalling firm is Stella Services. The original recall notice was published by the CFIA on August 29, 2025.
