Three arrested in Timmins after Sept. 16 drug warrants; police seize $98,655.75 cash and estimate drugs at $124,530

Three people were arrested in Timmins on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, after police executed two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants at residences in the area of Birch Street South and Rekela Street. Police said they seized $98,655.75 in cash and estimated the street value of the drugs at $124,530.

The arrests followed a joint investigation involving the Timmins Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit, the Ontario Provincial Police Northeast Region Community Street Crime Unit, and the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit, according to a Timmins Police Service release.

Police said the investigation began in June 2026 after officers identified suspected illicit drug trafficking from a residence in the area of Birch Street South that was connected to a residence in the area of Rekela Street.

Timmins police said the service’s Emergency Response Team executed the two search warrants without incident.

Compton Taitt, of Toronto, was arrested at the Birch Street South-area residence. Police seized 190 grams of fentanyl, 240 grams of cocaine, 379 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 43 oxycodone (Percocet) tablets. Officers also seized $9,478.75 in Canadian currency, three cellular phones and a digital scale.

Kody Brown and Jessica Nunez, both of Timmins, were arrested at the Rekela Street-area residence. Police seized approximately $89,177 in bundled Canadian currency, a money counter, brass knuckles, a conducted energy weapon, three cellular phones and financial documents.

Timmins police put the estimated street value of the seized drugs at $124,530. Police listed the estimate as $38,040 for 190.2 grams of fentanyl, $47,740 for 238.7 grams of cocaine, $37,890 for 378.9 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and $860 for 43 oxycodone tablets.

Taitt is charged with Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Police said Taitt, Brown and Nunez each face the same additional charges: Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Proceeds of Crime – Over $5,000.

Brown and Nunez also face two counts each of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and two counts each of Possession of a Prohibited Device.

Police said Taitt, Brown and Nunez are being held in custody pending bail hearings.
