Timmins and District Hospital Provides Holiday Health Guidelines

Timmins and District Hospital has issued guidelines for staying healthy during the holiday season and information on where to seek care if needed. With many health service providers operating on reduced hours, the hospital's emergency department may experience high volumes.

Health Guidelines

  • Get vaccinated for COVID-19 and flu. Information on where to get vaccinated can be found at phu.fyi/flu-shot.
  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Wear a mask if feeling unwell.
  • Stay home if experiencing symptoms such as cough, fever, runny nose, or sore throat.
  • Follow public health guidance available at Ontario.ca.

Community Resources

  • For critical or life-threatening conditions, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
  • For non-life-threatening health concerns, contact your primary care provider or use the HealthLine tool to find alternatives such as walk-in clinics and urgent care.
  • For urgent medication refills, contact your primary care provider or pharmacist.
  • For mental health crises, contact the Timmins and District Hospital Crisis Line at 705-264-3003 or North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS) Crisis services.
