Timmins Announces Street Sweeping Schedule for May 18-24, 2024

The Timmins Public Works Department will conduct street sweeping operations from May 18 to May 24, 2024. Nighttime street sweeping will occur from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am on the following schedule:

  • Monday, May 20: Toke, Ross, Jubilee
  • Tuesday, May 21: Maclean, Theriault, College, Vimy
  • Wednesday, May 22: Victoria, Denise, Lonergan

Daytime street sweeping will take place from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm on the following schedule:

  • Tuesday, May 21: Bartleman, Eyre, Churchill, Richelieu, Rochdale; Schumacher: Dwyer, Lions Crest, Les Hall, Hollinger
  • Wednesday, May 22: Pine (Sixth to Ross), Polaris (Rea to Dead end), Belleview, Pearl, Cameron (Theriault to dead end), Ann (Cameron to dead end), Powerline, Mcleod; Melrose, University, Dieppe
  • Thursday, May 23: Rea, Waterloo, Jade (Rea to Melrose); Schumacher: Fourth, Aura Lake, Battachio, Boundary
  • Friday, May 24: Fogg (Wilson to Commercial), Cloutier (Wilson to Bannerman), Clifford, Greeningdon, Bonaventure; Schumacher: Brundy, Fourth, Ponderosa, Veterans, Claimpost

The Public Works Department notes that sweeping operations will take several weeks to complete due to the amount of sand to be picked up. Weather conditions and mechanical issues may affect the schedule. Heavy rain and subzero temperatures will halt operations.

Yellow No Parking signs will be posted to notify residents of daytime operations. Vehicles not complying with these signs will be ticketed and towed.

The priority sequence for street sweeping operations is as follows:

  • Day Operation: High-density residential areas, low-density residential areas (excluding areas where sanitation is taking place)
  • Night Operation: Highway sections, high-density commercial sections, main arterial routes

Residents are reminded to respect safety signage for the safety of workers.
