Timmins awards two-year motor grader services contract for 2026–27 and 2027–28 winters

Timmins city council has awarded a two-year contract for motor grader services for the 2026–27 and 2027–28 winter seasons to 1393097 Ontario Inc. for $568,320 plus HST.

The city said the contract is intended to provide additional motor grader support during high-demand periods in winter road maintenance, including significant snowfall, and to help Public Works plan for winter operations.

According to the City of Timmins, the agreement covers dedicated grader services for snow clearing and maintenance grading. The city said the contractor support will be used when demand is higher than usual.

The city cited aging equipment, mechanical breakdowns and periodic staff shortages as reasons it needs reliable access to motor graders during peak periods.

The city also said the two-year term is intended to stabilize pricing and help forecast winter maintenance costs.

Winter maintenance in Timmins will continue to be delivered through a mix of municipal services and contracted resources, the city said.
