Timmins ends Significant Weather Event declaration on Feb. 26, 2026
Timmins ended its Significant Weather Event declaration on Feb. 26, 2026, the city announced in a Public Works notice posted that day.
The declaration is used under Ontario’s Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways, and is tied to how winter road maintenance is managed during severe conditions.
In its notice, the City of Timmins said the Significant Weather Event had been declared on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025, at 5 p.m. The city said it was issued under the provisions of the Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways (O. Reg. 239).
The city’s post did not describe the weather or road conditions that led to the Dec. 28 declaration.
