Timmins issues extreme cold weather alert for Feb. 26, 2026
The City of Timmins issued an extreme cold weather alert for Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, with temperatures expected to drop to -23 this evening and overnight, including wind chill.
The alert includes a reminder that exposure to extreme cold can cause serious and sometimes life-threatening health problems, including frostbite and hypothermia.
The city’s notice lists protective measures such as avoiding wind exposure, dressing in warm layers and covering exposed skin.
According to the city, people requiring emergency shelter can attend 316 Spruce St. S. for assistance.
