Timmins issues extreme cold weather alert for March 14; forecast calls for -25 C overnight with wind chill
The City of Timmins issued an extreme cold weather alert for Saturday, March 14, 2026, warning that temperatures are expected to drop to -25 C overnight, including wind chill.
In its alert, the city said exposure to extreme cold can cause “serious and sometimes even life-threatening” health problems, including frostbite and hypothermia.
The city listed several precautions for residents during extreme cold conditions, including avoiding wind exposure, dressing in warm layers, and covering exposed skin.
People requiring emergency shelter can go to 316 Spruce St. S. for assistance, according to the city.
