Timmins launches three new Pollinator Week contests; entries open until June 28, 2026
The City of Timmins’ Bee City program launched three new Pollinator Week contests June 23, with entries open until June 28, 2026.
The new contests run alongside the annual Pollinator Photo Contest and are part of the city’s Pollinator Week activities.
The contests are Pollinator Bingo, Pollinator Trivia and a pollinator-inspired art contest.
In its Pollinator Week post, the city said pollinator populations are “dwindling” because of habitat loss and other environmental pressures, including climate change. The city also said pollinators such as bees and butterflies support ecosystems and food systems.
Christina Beaton, the city’s manager of environmental compliance and sustainability, said in the post that Pollinator Week is “an opportunity to explore the incredible diversity of pollinators found here in Northern Ontario.”
Contest details and deadlines are posted at www.timmins.ca/our_services/environment___sustainability/bee_city_timmins/bee_city_contests.
