Timmins lowers speed limit to 50 km/h on Hwy. 67/Municipal Road from Hwy. 101 East to city boundary
The City of Timmins has temporarily lowered the speed limit to 50 km/h from 80 km/h on Hwy. 67 / Municipal Road, from Hwy. 101 East to the Timmins city boundary, effective immediately.
The reduced speed applies to about 9.1 kilometres of road and will remain in place until further notice. The city says the change is being made because asphalt conditions on that stretch have deteriorated.
Caution signs will be posted to alert motorists.
A contractor has been hired to complete pothole patching and repair work on the affected section, the city said.
The city is reminding drivers to watch for road crews and further reduce speed in active work zones.
