Timmins moves Canada Day waste and recycling pickup to July 2; several services closed July 1

Waste and recycling pickup scheduled in Timmins for Canada Day (July 1) will be collected on Thursday, July 2, 2026, and several municipal services will be closed or unavailable on July 1, the City of Timmins says.

The schedule affects common city services on the holiday, including municipal offices, the landfill, transit, and some recreation and cultural facilities.

Service Timmins and the Provincial Offences Centre will be closed July 1.

Deloro Landfill will be closed July 1.

Timmins Transit will not run on Canada Day, July 1.

The Timmins Museum: NEC will be closed July 1.

Both branches of the Timmins Public Library will be closed July 1.

The Archie Dillon Sportsplex Pool will be closed July 1.

Timmins Economic Development offices will be closed July 1.

The City of Timmins posted the holiday schedule in a notice titled “Canada Day 2026 Municipal Schedule.”
