Timmins Opens Applications for Community Improvement Plan Grants
The City of Timmins will begin accepting applications for the Community Improvement Plan (CIP) grants, including the Safety Improvement Grant, starting at 9:00 a.m. on February 5, 2025. The CIP is designed to support the enhancement, reuse, and restoration of land, buildings, and infrastructure through municipal incentive programs.
Eligible businesses located in downtown Timmins and certain designated areas can apply for grants such as the Building Improvement Grant, Façade Improvement Grant, and Municipal Fee Rebate grant. The Safety Improvement Grant is available to all commercial, industrial, and institutional businesses within Timmins, covering up to 75% of security measure costs, with a maximum limit of $7,500.
In 2024, the city received 51 grant applications, resulting in $257,454 being allocated to 42 projects. The City of Timmins has allocated $130,000 for CIP projects, sourced from the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT).
Businesses interested in applying are encouraged to prepare their applications ahead of the February 5th opening to take advantage of these funding opportunities.
