Timmins plans city-wide snow plowing starting April 3, with winter overnight parking ban in effect
A city-wide snow plowing operation is scheduled to begin in Timmins on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 12:01 p.m., and is expected to continue through the evening and into the weekend.
The work matters for residents who rely on on-street parking and for anyone travelling on local roads over the weekend, as plows are expected to be active across Timmins while crews respond to forecasted snowfall and ice pellet accumulations.
The City of Timmins Public Works Department said multiple crews will be deployed at various times over the weekend in response to forecasted snowfall and ice pellet accumulations of 15 to 25 cm.
Because of equipment and staffing shortages, not all streets will be plowed at the same time, the department said.
As crews are available, plows will cover city streets, rural roads, laneways and parking lots in Timmins.
The city’s winter parking ban remains in effect. Parking on the street is not permitted on any day between 11:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., from Nov. 1 through April 30.
