Timmins police arrest one after assault linked to reported window damage at local business
Timmins police arrested one person after an assault investigation linked to an alleged mischief incident at a local business on June 26.
Police said a business owner followed the person involved, and a confrontation ended with one person injured and taken to hospital.
According to the Timmins Police Service, officers were called about 10:55 a.m. after a report that someone had damaged a window at a local business and left the area on foot.
Police said the business owner pursued the person a short distance away and confronted them with a weapon. Police said the weapon was used during the confrontation and the person was injured.
The injured individual was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and more details, including any charges, will be released as they become available.
Police urged residents not to pursue or confront suspects and to call police from a safe location.
