Timmins police ask public to avoid Mountjoy Street South between Sterling Avenue and Mohawk Road
Timmins Police Service is asking the public to avoid Mountjoy Street South between Sterling Avenue and Mohawk Road due to a heavy police presence as officers respond to an ongoing incident. Police said there is no current threat to public safety.
The advisory affects traffic in that part of Timmins, with police asking drivers to stay out of the area and use alternate routes where possible.
In an online notice, Timmins police said officers are “actively dealing with an ongoing incident” on Mountjoy Street South in the block between Sterling Avenue and Mohawk Road.
Police did not provide details about the incident.
The service also asked people in the vicinity to be patient while officers work at the scene.
