Timmins police release area north of Algonquin Boulevard East and Highway 655 during sudden death investigation
Timmins police say they are investigating a sudden death just north of Algonquin Boulevard East and Highway 655, and that a cordoned-off area connected to the investigation was released at 7:47 p.m. on May 31, 2026.
The closure affected a busy commercial area in the east end of Timmins. Police had asked the public to avoid the area while officers conducted their investigation.
In an update, the Timmins Police Service said the area south of Gillies Lake and behind businesses off Algonquin Boulevard East had been cordoned off earlier May 31 while the investigation continued.
Police said the sudden death investigation continues and no foul play is suspected.
The Timmins Police Service said more information will be shared as it becomes available.
