Timmins police say increased presence near Mount Jamison Resort is for training on Sept. 18, 2026
Timmins residents may see an increased police presence on Kamiskotia Road near Mount Jamison Resort on Sept. 18, 2026, as the Timmins Police Service conducts Emergency Response Team training in the area. Police said the activity is part of a planned training exercise and is not connected to an active incident.
The advisory is intended for people who live, work, or travel near Kamiskotia Road, where residents may notice more police vehicles, officers, and other emergency response personnel than usual.
The Timmins Police Service said the training is “planned and controlled,” and that there is “no ongoing threat to public safety” associated with the increased police activity.
Police asked the public to avoid the immediate training area where possible and to follow any directions from officers or other personnel on scene.
The police release did not list start or end times for the training activity.
