Timmins posts extreme cold weather alert for Jan. 20, with overnight low expected to reach -29 C with wind chill
An extreme cold weather alert was posted on the City of Timmins website for Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, with temperatures expected to drop as low as -29 C overnight, including wind chill.
For Timmins residents who need emergency shelter, the city said help is available at 316 Spruce St. S.
The city warned that exposure to extreme cold can lead to frostbite and hypothermia.
The city also advised residents to avoid wind exposure, dress in warm layers and cover exposed skin.
