Timmins reschedules South Porcupine snow removal to April 8, postpones Algonquin Avenue shift

City of Timmins Public Works rescheduled an overnight snow-removal shift on King Street in South Porcupine to Wednesday, April 8, 2026, and postponed a planned overnight shift on Algonquin Avenue in Timmins to a later date with no new date announced.

The changes affect the city’s snow-removal schedule for the week of April 6, 2026, shifting when crews are scheduled to work on those two streets.

In South Porcupine, the affected area is King Street from Bristol Road to the Porcupine River Bridge. The work had been scheduled for Tuesday night, April 7, 2026, but was moved to Wednesday night, April 8, 2026.

The city said the work did not take place as planned due to “operational issues.”

In Timmins, the affected area is Algonquin Avenue from Mountjoy Street to Mattagami Boulevard. The overnight shift scheduled for Wednesday night, April 8, 2026, was moved to a later date.

No replacement date was included in the city’s April 8, 2026 notice.
