Timmins says bulk item pickup still underway May 19 in Mountjoy west of Mattagami River and Kamiskotia Lake area

Bulk item collection in Timmins was still underway at 3:46 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, in the Mountjoy area west of the Mattagami River and in the Kamiskotia Lake area, the city said.

The City of Timmins said the remaining route could take longer than planned to finish, and asked residents in the affected areas to leave items at the curb so crews can return to pick up what is left.

In a notice posted May 19, the city said crews were continuing bulk item collection in Mountjoy west of the Mattagami River and in the Kamiskotia Lake area. The city said the work may take additional time due to “volume and operational requirements.”

Residents in those areas were asked to keep bulk items at the curb, and the city said crews will return to collect remaining materials as they continue the route.

The city said collection had been completed in areas south of Algonquin Boulevard, from the Mattagami River east to Railway Street, including Dalton Road up to the end of the asphalt.

The notice said further updates will be provided as needed.
