Timmins schedules emergency watermain break repair on Croatia Avenue in Schumacher for March 10
The City of Timmins says it scheduled an emergency watermain break repair for Tuesday, March 10, on Croatia Avenue in Schumacher between Ponderosa Street and Veterans Street, with work planned from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The city’s Environmental Services Department warned that the repair could temporarily affect water service for homes and businesses in the immediate area during the work window.
In its notice, the City of Timmins said customers in the notification area may experience short-term loss of water service or water pressure, and may also see brown or rust-coloured water.
The city recommended that residents not drink discoloured water or use it to wash laundry, saying the discoloured water is not harmful to health but can stain clothing.
If discoloured water appears during the disruption, the city advised residents not to run the water for 10 to 20 minutes.
After the work is completed, the city said residents should run the cold-water tap closest to the source—usually a laundry tub tap—for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, or until the water returns to its normal colour.
The notice was posted on the City of Timmins website March 10.
