Timmins schedules June 18 water shutdown on Riverside Dr. for watermain test
Timmins residents and businesses along Riverside Dr. from 1136 Riverside Dr. to Shirley St., including up to 52 Clifford, are scheduled to have water service shut off Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a watermain test shutdown by the City of Timmins.
The city says the planned work may lead to low water pressure and brown or rust-coloured water for properties in the affected area during the maintenance period.
According to the City of Timmins Environmental Services & Public Utilities Department, residents should not drink discoloured water or use it to wash laundry. The city says the discoloured water is not harmful to health, but it can stain clothing.
If discoloured water occurs, the city advises residents to turn on the cold-water tap closest to the source—usually a laundry tub tap. The city says to let the water run for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the colour returns to normal.
The city has described the work as a watermain test shutdown in the Riverside Dr. area.
