Timmins to begin overnight plowing at 9:01 p.m. March 15 during declared Significant Weather Event

Public Works in Timmins says it will begin overnight plowing operations at 9:01 p.m. March 15 in response to a declared Significant Weather Event.

The city says the timing and the weather declaration may affect how quickly streets, sidewalks and municipal parking lots are cleared, and it is also reminding drivers that the overnight winter parking ban remains in effect.

Crews will be deployed across Timmins to plow streets, rural roads and laneways, according to the city’s March 15 notice. The city says operations will continue throughout the storm and may take up to 24 hours after snowfall ends to complete.

Sidewalk clearing may take additional time due to expected snowfall. The city says crews will prioritize high-traffic pedestrian routes and areas near public facilities.

Municipal parking lot clearing may be delayed as crews prioritize maintaining roads, the city said.

The city also said that, as previously communicated in its snow removal schedule, no snow removal was planned for Sunday evening or Monday to support the storm response.

The winter parking ban is in effect from 11:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Nov. 1 through April 30. Parking on city streets during those hours is not permitted, the city said.
