Timmins to close sections of Airport Road and College Street Aug. 20 for crosswalk marking work

Temporary road closures are scheduled in Timmins on Thursday, Aug. 20, to allow crews to complete crosswalk pavement markings, the City of Timmins Public Works department said.

The work will close sections of Airport Road and College Street during the morning. The city said motorists should use alternate routes where possible and obey posted signage near the work zones.

Airport Road is scheduled to be closed between Westmount Boulevard and Theriault Boulevard from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. The right-hand channelization ramp from Airport Road to Theriault Boulevard will remain accessible.

College Street is scheduled to be closed between Jubilee Avenue and Westmount Boulevard from 9 a.m. to noon.

The city said motorists should exercise caution when travelling near the work zones.

The notice did not list detour routes.
