Timmins to close sections of Airport Road and College Street on Aug. 20 for crosswalk marking

Parts of Airport Road and College Street in Timmins are set to close Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, for crosswalk pavement marking work, with Airport Road scheduled to close from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and College Street from 9 a.m. to noon.

The closures may affect morning travel on two well-used routes, and the city is asking drivers to follow posted signs and take care around work areas.

According to a City of Timmins Public Works notice posted Aug. 19, Airport Road will be closed between Westmount Boulevard and Theriault Boulevard from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The city said the right-hand channelization ramp from Airport Road to Theriault Boulevard will remain accessible during that closure.

Public Works said College Street will be closed between Jubilee Avenue and Westmount Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In its notice, the city asked motorists to obey all posted signage, exercise caution when travelling near the work zones, and use alternate routes where possible.
