Timmins to lift seasonal reduced-load restrictions June 5, with Langmuir and Connaught still limited
Seasonal reduced-load restrictions for commercial motor vehicles and trailers will be lifted as of 4 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2026, on applicable roads in Timmins, according to the City of Timmins. Reduced-load restrictions will remain in effect on Langmuir Road and Connaught Road until further notice.
The city says the seasonal restrictions are used during the spring thaw, when road and highway damage is most likely to happen. The City of Timmins also notes that these restrictions are typically in place until early June.
The city said By-law 2006-6275 governs seasonal load restrictions and includes a list of applicable roads in Schedule A. The city said the bylaw is subject to the provisions of Section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act (RSO 1990, Chapter H 8).
In its notice, the city also said some specific roads have year-round load restrictions under By-law 2022-8708.
