Traffic Detours and Fines in Effect Near Empire Complex

Due to ongoing road closures around the Empire Complex, multiple detours are in place to allow emergency crews to work safely.

Motorists must obey all traffic rules and posted signs. Traffic using Pine Street South or Third Avenue as a detour must follow the signs at the intersection. No left turns are allowed at this intersection, and violators will face a $150 fine and two demerit points under s.182(2) of the HTA for disobeying signs in a Community Safety Zone. Motorists needing to turn left are advised to use the Cedar Street South at Third Avenue intersection.

Driving on closed roads is prohibited and can result in a $150 fine and three demerit points under s. 134(3) HTA for driving on a closed highway in a Community Safety Zone. Traffic Services will enforce all road rules on detoured streets.
