Two Drivers Charged with Impaired Driving in Timmins

Between August 13 and 14, 2024, two drivers were charged with impaired driving in Timmins.

On August 13, at approximately 10:51 a.m., the Timmins Police Service received a call about an erratic driver entering Timmins from Highway 101 W. Police intercepted the vehicle on Riverside Drive at Norman Street. After further investigation, the female driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Timmins Police Station for a drug evaluation.

The driver, Angela De Ruyte from Matheson, ON, was charged with operation while impaired by drugs and operation of an unsafe vehicle. She was released from custody on an undertaking with a court date.

On August 14, at approximately 11:15 p.m., police received a call about a male leaving a bar in Timmins in his car after consuming multiple alcoholic beverages. Police located the vehicle and formed reasonable grounds to believe the driver was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and transported to the Timmins Police Station for breath testing.

Philip Domingo from Timmins, ON, was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80, and dangerous operation. He was released from custody on an undertaking with a court date.
