Two Timmins residents charged after police search warrant on Balsam Street North
Two Timmins residents have been charged after Timmins Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police officers executed a search warrant at a home on Balsam Street North in Timmins on Oct. 8, 2026, according to Timmins police.
Police allege the search was part of a joint investigation into drug trafficking in the city, and they say drugs, cash and a cell phone were seized.
Timmins police said their Drug Enforcement Unit and the OPP Northeast Region Community Street Crime Unit began the investigation in September 2026. Police said the investigation identified the Balsam Street North residence as a location where illicit drugs were allegedly being sold.
Police executed the warrant without incident and arrested five occupants found inside the home, the service said. Police said Marie Etherington, 56, and Anya Larabie, 29, both of Timmins, were taken to the Timmins Police Service station, while the other three occupants were released at the scene.
After the arrests, police said searches of the individuals and the home resulted in the seizure of about 18 grams of fentanyl, about 29 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 18 Percocet tablets and five codeine tablets. Police also reported seizing $1,650 in Canadian currency and a cell phone.
Police estimated the street value of the seized drugs at $6,900.
Etherington is charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking. She is also charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Larabie is charged with breach of a conditional sentence order and public mischief.
In the release, Staff Sgt. Camirand said the investigation involved cooperation between Timmins police and the OPP.
The charges have not been proven in court.
