Two Timmins residents charged with first-degree murder in Aug. 1 Rea Street South shooting

Timmins police say two Timmins residents have been charged with first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder following a shooting in the area of Rea Street South on Aug. 1, 2026. Police said one man, identified as 32-year-old Cole Lefaive, died and a second victim remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The update provides the latest information from the Timmins Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division as the investigation continues, including the name of the deceased, the condition of the second victim, and the charges police say have been laid.

In a news release, Timmins police said investigators charged Kaleb Booth, 22, and Kaitlin Fudge, 32, each with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Police said Booth and Fudge also face two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, involving cocaine and methamphetamine.

In addition, police said the two are charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and multiple firearm-related offences.

Police said Fudge was located and arrested on Aug. 1, 2026. She appeared in bail court on Aug. 2, 2026, and has been remanded into custody.

Police said Booth was arrested on Aug. 2, 2026, and is being held in custody.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
