WAHA Announces 2024 Winter Medical Transportation Schedule

The Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) has announced the 2024 winter transportation schedule for medical transportation services. The schedule is effective from January 8, 2024.

Flight 704 to Kingston

Passengers traveling on flight 704 to Kingston must check in with Air Creebec at the Moosonee Airport by 2:00 PM for a 3:00 PM departure. A valid ID is required for boarding.

Transportation Restrictions

WAHA Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) drivers are not permitted to pick up or drop off patients, escorts, and staff at private residences, except for patients with dialysis appointments.

Reminders

The winter schedule runs on time and will not be delayed for late arrivals.
Limited seating is available; children without scheduled appointments cannot accompany clients.
No pets, alcohol, or illegal substances are allowed.

Travel Warrants

All travelers must present a Travel Warrant to the driver.
WAHA staff and business travelers must email their travel warrant at least two days in advance to WAHA-local-drivers@waha.ca.
A copy of the Travel Warrant must be shown to the driver.

Baggage Policy

Only one carry-on and one piece of luggage weighing no more than 25 pounds are allowed.
Passengers must arrange alternate transportation for any extra bags or parcels over 25 pounds, except for business travelers who require tools for their job.

Mask Requirement

Masks are mandatory in the vans.
