Water main test shutdown scheduled for July 7, 2026 on Jubilee Avenue West in Timmins
The City of Timmins says it will conduct a water main test shutdown on Jubilee Avenue West from Melrose Boulevard to Rea Street North on July 7, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Residents and businesses in that stretch of Jubilee Avenue West may experience lower water pressure and discoloured water during the work.
The city said water in the area may turn brown or rust-coloured during the scheduled maintenance. According to the city, the discoloured water is not harmful to health, but it can stain laundry.
The city advised residents not to drink discoloured water or use it to wash laundry.
If water becomes discoloured, the city said residents can run the cold-water tap closest to the water source—usually a laundry-tub tap—for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the water runs clear.
