Water service disruption expected March 25, 2026 on Crescent Avenue in Timmins North during emergency repair
Water service was expected to be disrupted on Crescent Avenue in Timmins North on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, while the City of Timmins Environmental Services Department carried out an emergency water service repair. The city said the disruption was scheduled for 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
For residents and businesses in the affected area, the city’s notice said the work could mean short-term loss of water or reduced water pressure. It also said some taps could run brown or rust-coloured during the disruption.
The city said the affected section was Crescent Avenue from MacLean Dr to Waterloo.
The Environmental Services Department recommended that residents not drink discoloured water or use it to wash laundry. The department said the discolouration is not harmful to health but can stain laundry.
If discoloured water occurs during the repair, the department advised turning off the tap for 10 to 20 minutes to allow crews to finish.
Once the work is completed, the department advised residents to turn on the cold-water tap closest to the source—usually a laundry tub tap—and let it run for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, or until the water returns to its normal colour.
The city’s notice did not say what caused the emergency repair.
