Water service disruption expected on part of Croatia Avenue in Schumacher on March 9, 2026
Water service may be disrupted on part of Croatia Avenue in Schumacher on March 9, 2026, while the City of Timmins Environmental Services Department carries out an emergency watermain break repair. The disruption is expected to run from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The notice affects residents and businesses along Croatia Avenue because it may include a short-term loss of water service or reduced water pressure, as well as temporary brown or rust-coloured water.
The city said the affected area is Croatia Avenue between Ponderosa Street and Veterans Street.
During the disruption window, the city said some customers may experience short-term loss of water and pressure or see brown or rust-coloured water.
If water becomes discoloured, the city advised residents not to drink it or use it to wash laundry. The city said the discoloured water is not harmful to health, but it can stain laundry.
If discoloured water appears, the city advised turning off the tap for 10 to 20 minutes to allow crews to finish the work.
After the repair is completed, the city advised running cold water from the tap closest to the source—usually a laundry tub tap—for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the water returns to its normal colour.
The city’s notice did not say what caused the watermain break.
