Water service interruption scheduled June 29, 2026 on Kenneth Street and Collins Lane in Timmins’ Porcupine area

Water service will be interrupted June 29, 2026, in Timmins’ Porcupine area for properties from 126 to 225 Kenneth Street, including Collins Lane, due to scheduled water infrastructure maintenance. The interruption is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to the City of Timmins.

The city says homes and businesses in the affected area may experience no water, lower-than-normal water pressure, and discoloured water during the disruption.

Some properties may experience brown or rust-coloured water during the scheduled maintenance, the city said. The city recommends residents not drink discoloured water or use it to wash laundry.

According to the city, discoloured water is not harmful to health, but it can stain laundry.

If discoloured water occurs, the city advises turning on the cold-water tap closest to the source. The city says this is usually a laundry tub tap. It recommends letting the water run for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the water colour returns to normal.

The notice was issued by the City of Timmins’ Environmental Services & Public Utilities Department.
