Watermain break affects Camille Street in Timmins on Oct. 1
Timmins Environmental Services reported an emergency watermain break affecting Camille Street between Shirley Street and Gatineau Boulevard in the Mountjoy area on Oct. 1, with work scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Homes and businesses on this block may experience short-term loss of water pressure and brown or rust-coloured water during the disruption. The City’s Environmental Services Department advises residents not to drink discoloured water or use it for laundry. The department says the discolouration is not a health hazard but can stain fabrics.
If discoloured water appears during the work, Environmental Services advises turning off the tap for 10–20 minutes to allow crews to finish.
Once repairs are complete, the department advises running the cold water tap closest to the service entry point—often a laundry tub—for approximately 15–20 minutes, or until the water runs clear.
The city posted the notice on its website on Oct. 1 and said the advisory applies to customers within the identified stretch of Camille Street in Mountjoy. No timeline beyond the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. work window was provided in the notice.
